Together we are experimenting with new ways of experiencing music and dance floors — exploring what happens when a love for music and care for the body coexist.

This is not a rejection of hedonism, but an exploration of how our own bodies hold natural capacities for altered experience, pleasure and joy.

What are the things we should be mindful of? Who is this for? What even is our definition of a retreat that meets a music gathering? We are interested in expanding our understanding of how we can shape our environment through our behaviours, our attention and the energy we bring into a space.

Below are a few essentials that help hold the container for the experience.

  • All are welcome. Bodily is rooted in sound system and music culture, while remaining open to anyone curious about exploring sound, body and connection.

  • Alcohol-free space. Bodily is an alcohol-free gathering — cultivating our own highs through sound, movement and practice.

  • The full circle matters.
The retreat is intended to be experienced as a whole unfolding over several days. Each day deepens the next. Honour the full journey.

  • Care for the shared space.
We are committed to holding an inclusive and respectful environment where diverse lived experiences are welcomed, valued and supported.

  • Phones away.
We encourage phones to stay away from workshops and intimate spaces to protect everyone’s privacy — and to allow you to stay with your own process. Some moments are better left undocumented. A professional photographer will be present to capture a some sessions and moments throughout the retreat. If you would prefer not to appear in any photographs or videos, please let us know and we will respect this.

  • Listen with your body.
This is a place to move, feel and explore your edges. There is no right way, only curiosity. Be mindful of those sharing the space with you — move with awareness, respect and care for the collective experience.

  • Care for the land.
Kudhva is a wild and beautiful place — and not our bin. Any trash, bin it. Leave the land as you found it.

  • Look out for one another.
Check in with yourself and those around you. Stay attuned. Small gestures of care help shape the container we are creating together.

  • Participation over performance.
You don’t need to be “good” at anything here, or be anyone other than your raw human self. Just show up with integrity, respect and take part.
